Chromosome Numbers and Karyotypes of Four Species Rubus L. from North of Iran
Karyotype study was performed across 7 populations of 4 Rubus species growing in Iran. The results showed that the chromosome numbers of R. sanctus (2n=2x=14) diploid, R. caesius, and R. discolor were (2n=4x=28) tetraploids, R. persicus (2n=8x=56) octoploid. The chromosome numbers of R. discolor, and R. persicus were reported here for the first time. Karyotypic formula also varied between the s...
متن کاملCytogenetic characterization of the Trinidad endemic, Arachnocoris trinitatus Bergroth: the first data for the tribe Arachnocorini (Heteroptera: Cimicomorpha: Nabidae).
As an extension of the ongoing cytogenetic studies of the bug family Nabidae (Heteroptera: Cimicomorpha), the first evidence for the tribe Arachnocorini (the subfamily Nabinae), with reference to the Trinidad endemic, Arachnocoris trinitatus Bergroth, is provided. This is an attempt to gain a better insight into the evolution, systematics and within-family relationships of the family Nabidae. T...
متن کاملChromosome Number Variation in Iranian Populations of Acorus calamus
Different ploidy levels, diploid (2n=2x=24) to hexaploid (2n=6x=72) have been reported for Acorus calamus, a perennial medicinal plant. According to available information, there is a significant relationship between the ploidy level and essential oil compositions and medicinal properties of this important genetic resource. However, there is no information about the chromosome number of A. calam...
متن کاملKaryotype analysis and new chromosome number reports for nine Vicia species in Iran
This study concerns diploid chromosome numbers and karyotype analysis of nine species belonging to four sections (Vicilla, Cracca, Variegata and Anatropostylia) of the subgenus Vicilla of the genus Vicia (Fabaceae). The chromosome numbers of Vicia alpestris subsp. hypoleuca, V. aucheri, V. ciceroideae, V. gariensis, V. iranica, V. koeieana, V. rechingeri, V. sojakii and V. venulosa are reported...
متن کاملIn situ hybridization and chromosome banding in mammalian species.
Chromosome banding is often required in conjunction with fluorescent in situ hybridization of labelled probes for chromosome painting, satellite DNA and low-copy sequences to allow identification of chromosomes and simultaneous probe localization. Here, we present a method that reveals both patterns with only one observation step. The band pattern is produced by restriction-enzyme digestion of ...
